I'd been contacted by Andrew Hawkes and asked if I'd be prepared to help him shoot this year's annual event. We were 'Twitter friends' and had never met, but he knew I had an interest in photography and he needed a second-shooter to help capture everything that happens on the day.
I nervously agreed, but what a day it was! Not only did I get to shoot stuff that I'd never normally shoot, but it was an all-round great day. From the judging of the dressed beds, to the parade through the centre of Knaresborough and then of course, the highlight of the day - the race proper.
Andy asked me to help him shoot the beds and the parade, and specifically the start of the race and the famous river crossing, whilst he shot the race through the town.
