A proper fun theme this year, that I suspect most teams had many a discussion over which classic advert would make it for their final design! There was more than one appearance for some of the classic adverts like the Dairy Milk gorilla (a couple of which had suitably costumed drummers), the 118-118 guys, the Milk Tray man, though thankfully the Jet2-themed teams decided to forego their music and saved everyone's ears!
We'd both been watching the forecast all week and it was pretty certain we'd get somewhat wet on the day, but to everyone's amazement the weather held and it ended up being a bright, warm day with just a couple of attempts at raining that came to nothing. Lugging a load of camera gear, we'd have both appreciated slightly cooler temperatures (as, I suspect, would the runners!) though it always somehow feels a better day when it's bright and sunny.
For possibly the first time, Andy and I both used the day to full field-test new gear - Andy a new camera, and I gave my new Leica DG 50-200mm f/2.8-4.0 lens a thorough testing - and it's safe to say, we were both very happy with how our new tech performed. As ever, we're both very grateful to Justin and Chris at Bass & Bligh in Harrogate, though our bank managers may not be!
